What are electrolytes?

It's a collective name of minerals that are used for maintaining functions within the body such as regulating your heartbeat and allowing muscles to contract for normal movement. They are essential for a happy and healthy body.

The most important electrolytes are sodium (salt), potassium, magnesium, chloride and calcium.

We advice you not to consume normal table salt, our advice is to use Himalayan Salt which also contains other minerals.

Most of the electrolytes are found either in food or drink. It is important to look into amount of electrolytes you consume when you first start the Hart Ketogenic Plan. You may suffer from the "Keto Flu" initially, this is often because of lack some electrolytes.

When you come and visit us, we'll take you through the importance of electrolytes and which foods to eat to maximize them.
