Oxidative Stress - Free Radicals
is an imbalance between free radicals and antioxidants in your body.
It's a major cause of age related diseases such as diabetes, dementia and Alzheimer's as well as cancer. It is of course essential to reduce oxidative stress as much as possible to avoid an early and painful death.
What causes it? You guessed it - Chronic Inflammation.
How can you reduce it? Antioxidants and anti-inflamatory diet - ketogenic diet.
Also exercise creates free radicals which cause cell damage, oxidative stress. Exercise causes elevated aerobic metabolism, which in turn increases the production of killer molecules known as free radicals. It's not to say that you should become a couch potato, try and walk, cycle, swimming, walk up and down stairs. Do house work and sing along to Freddy Mercury's" I've got to break free". It is of course good for your heart muscle to be exercised, but don't exaggerate.
